Different Cellular Router Types

Brief
As we know, cellular router is more and more popular in our living world. From normal internet connection for SOHO or personal use, to industrial class application, everywhere.

Cellular router devices can help you to visit internet or build a private connection anytime, anywhere, costless, conveniently.

Cellular router contains the following types:
1. GPRS Router – people also call it 2.5g router, working on GPRS networks, and back compatible to GSM networks.
2. EDGE Router -- people also call it 2.75g router, working on EDGE networks, and back compatible to GPRS/GSM networks.
3. CDMA Router-- people also call it 2.75g router, working on CDMA1x networks
4. HSDPA Router – people call it 3G mobile router, working on HSDPA networks, and back compatible to EDGE/GPRS/GSM networks, upgrading from 3g umts router.
5. HSUPA Router – upgraded from HSDPA router, working on HSUPA networks, and back compatible to HSDPA/EDGE/GPRS/GSM networks

Speed comparation
HSUPA Router can reach 14.4Mbps download, and 5.75Mbps upload. And can upgrade to HSPA+ providing higher speed.
HSDPA router can reach 7.2Mbps download and 384kbps upload.
EDGE router provides 384kbps speed, and GPRS Router provides 206kbps speed.
EVDO Router gets 3.1Mbps speed and CDMA1x router gets 153kbps.

So for high data internet connection, HSPA Router, HSPA+ Router, HSUPA Router, and HSDPA Router are the best choice. EDGE/GPRS/CDMA1x Router are for Industrial Ethernet Router for small data size transmission applications.
